COVID-19 Salon Updates
Dear Shear Headcase clients,
We are excited to have a plan in place to re-open our salon for you!
Shear Headcase has and continues to be proud of the effort that we take for the safety and health of our clients on a daily basis. With the reopening of the salon and the current COVID-19 infection. We take these protocols and procedures very seriously.
We know you are excited to get back in the chair, we are excited too. However, in reviewing the current guidelines for reopening we will be adding additional health and sanitation equipment and protocols for both the stylists and clients. These things take time and consideration.
Starting May 12th, we will be contacting clients to reschedule canceled appointments, in order of cancellation. Please wait for your call and do not call the salon.
On May 13th online booking will be available for services available.
Monday May 18th through Thursday May 21st, we will be open from 11:00am to 2:00pm. During that time, to support clients that do not wish to schedule an appointment, we will ONLY be offering Products, at 15% off, and Curbside color (for clients who are eligible) Visit https://shearheadcase.com/about/custom-curbside-color
Starting May 26th, we will be offering limited hands on services during reduced hours. These services include Haircuts, Cap & Go Color, Color Regrowth, Color Refresh, and Sunkissed Highlights.
On June 15th we will re-evaluate our ability to provide services that generally exceed 1 1/2 hours of service time.

We also understand that during this time the Shear Headcase experience, that you are accustom too, may feel very different. But we will take every step necessary for our stylists and our clients to feel comfortable and safe returning to Shear Headcase salon.

We wanted to take a moment to answer some FAQ:
When will you re-open?
Like you, we anxiously await the safe re-opening of Texas businesses! But, we really don’t know.
Per Gov. Abbott’s plan to reopen Texas, salons are not part of Phase 1 (starting May 1st) and are pending in Phase 2 (May 18th). Depending on how Phase 1 looks, there will be further evaluation on what Phase 2 looks like, and if it includes us.
In the meantime, your Shear Headcase team is already planning safety measures for our clients and staff when we do get the opportunity to reopen. We are going to need your patience and understanding. Even when we do re-open. Thing will feel different and we will need to have lots of new procedures in place and maybe even a different schedule. There is a lot of unknown.
What if I have an appointment scheduled?
Currently, If you have an appointment, you will receive a reminder text indicating that we are closed. When we know the date we will re-open, your reminder text will indicate your appointment status. Please pay close attention as some things may change.
Can I reschedule?
Unfortunately, not yet. Since we don’t know when we can re-open and we don’t know what the re-opening schedule will look like we want to prevent as many future cancellations, reschedules or appointment changes, as possible.
Can I be put on a waiting list?
If you have had an appointment cancelled since March 20th, you are automatically placed on our reschedule list. Once we know an official date when we can re-open, We will have a day when we will begin calling the those clients in order of appointment cancellation. After we call everyone, we will reopen our online booking system to accept new appointments.
Can I call the salon?
Currently, our phones are not being answered and voice messages are not received. If you have a question you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, we will do our best to respond within 1-2 business days.
We recommend that when we re-open and it is available that you reserve an appointment through our online appointment booking system. We will have limited ability to manage calls during our first few days when we re-open.
Can I schedule an appointment now for later in summer?
Not yet - we will alert everyone when we re-open that we are accepting new online appointments. Please be patient as we try to accommodate all our previously cancelled clients.
What can I do about my roots?
We know it has been hard to wait on your color. But we don’t want you to make any permanent decisions during a this temporary situation. We ask you to have just a little more patience. At this time, in our closure, we will not be providing any permanent color solutions. We have some helpful ideas on our Instagram and Facebook pages for temporary solutions.
Can I purchase retail products?
You can purchase retail products directly from Davines on their official website https://us.davines.com/. If you can wait just a little bit longer, when we re-open our salon we will have promotional discounts for our products.
Based on Governor Abbott's extension of the State Shelter in Place order, We anticipate an updated Travis County Shelter in Place order to be put into effect. We continue to hope that all of our Shear Headcase family are staying safe and healthy! We can not currently anticipate a reopen date, but we will let our clients know as soon as know more!

We will be drastically reducing our community contact by temporarily closing our salon as of March 20, 2020.
Though we have had no change in impact or level of concern directly, we want to respect the current efforts to contain any further spread of COVID-19 and actively participate in flattening the curve.
Shear Headcase values our clients and takes pride in the service we provide to our community. However, unlike medical and supply industries we do not have a need for any emergency interaction.
As a local and family run salon it is difficult for us to take this step. Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our staff and clients, as well as our impact on the community. We are doing our best to continue to support our staff financially.
We are offering 15% every $100 client credit purchased on our website between March 20th and April 3rd. Purchases will automatically be applied to your account and will be available for use on future services when we are able to reopen our doors.

As communities begin to feel the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to share with you the steps we’re taking at Shear Headcase to help protect the health and safety of our clients and stylists, which is always our top priority.
Our housekeeping and sanitization efforts in our salon have always been compliant with Texas Law for Salons, to prevent the spread of any illness. We have and continue to use hospital grade EPA registered solution, for all tools and surfaces. We are frequently disinfecting often-touched surfaces such as door handles, countertops, keypads, restroom surfaces, etc. We are continuing our regular practice of hand washing and sanitizing/disinfecting between clients.
If you or a family member has experienced the symptoms of COVID-19 or any other contagious illness, we kindly ask that you refrain from coming into the salon, and we will be accommodating to reschedule your appointment to a later date. Your health and the health of all our clients is of utmost importance at this time.
For additional information regarding COVID-19 and guidelines to help keep yourself and others healthy, we recommend you visit the CDC website at cdc.gov.
Currently, our salon is operating regular hours to meet the needs of our clients. We will continue to closely monitor local and national reports on the evolving impact of COVID-19 and will update you with any relevant information as it pertains to our service to our community.
